Standard portaloos are usually equipped with flow indicators, so you can easily monitor when the tank is approaching full capacity and needs to be emptied. Once the portaloo is at full capacity, a large vacuum is used to transfer all toilet waste to a holding tank, which is then taken to a specialised cleaning facility for safe disposal.
